Bent & Tribe Fetish/ Fashion Show 2009

Hello,
As I set out for T.O. on the Greyhound by myself, my excitement to go to the event was challenged by my fortune of meeting up with a couple of old friends...

It was a short 45 minute trip in and within 5 minutes of getting off the bus I was greeted by the smiling face of a friend that I haven't seen for some 7 years or so... We made some quick arrangements to meet up with her fellow friends later, and headed for a local coffee shop. As we caught up over a quick bite to eat, we were graced with the presence of my "possible business partner" friend... So naturally I tried to introduce them, and it turned out that they actually already knew each other... lol With the intros out of the way, we discussed the day's events...

There was actually 2 that we planned on going to. 1st there was The Bent event of venders - with their "pervertibles" for sale. In order for us to make this one, we had to go soon as time was passing us by quickly... doesn't it always when you're catching up and having fun?... One of us was on a bike, so we had to part ways temperarily. While she dropped off the bike, we decided to take the city's Go Train to get to her place so that we could all attend this first event together. While the 2 of us were on the train, we met an elderly couple who were familiar with this area of the city. They informed us of how far (from where we were at present) it actually was to get to her place to pick her up, and the fact that we would be passing by the event on the way there... With the time being an issue now, we felt we had no choice but to go there without our other friend... Boo hoo hoo for her... sorry baby!!

We made it to the first event with no trouble finding the place... It was in the basement of a warehouse-type building, and it had a good set up with plenty of room to not only walk around but for me to also try out a whip or two... How wonderful!! Came across some items we liked including a nice little logo lady, a clear plastic skirt (of course I had to buy this item... lol), some comic books (artist was actually selling them himself), a great chain mail guy, and some pretty cool gear on the way out the door!! All in all I was greatful for the opportunity to attend it (and with a business partner to boot!), met some really cool people, and hope to attend next year's event if they do it again!!! Unfortunately, we didn't get any pics., but we did get some business cards!!

On our way to catch the bus after, we came across a quaint little shop (called: "Budget Super Savings Discount Inc." - 1348 Queen St. West) that had a HUGE selection of items all jam packed in this medium to small sized location... so much so that it was like finding great little hidden treasures... and boy did we!!... We both ended up leaving for the bus (once again) with more to put in my backpack... lol

By the time we finally got back to our other friend, it was getting close to preparation time for the 2nd event. After figuring out what everyone was doing and having a quick bite to eat, it turned out that my business partner was not to attend this with me. It was actually my other friend was to come with me to the fetish show. So it turned out that I got to go to an event with each of them, but not together... oh well, maybe next round!

The 2nd event was the Tribe Fetish/ Fashion Show. Now this being the main event and purpose of coming out to T.O. in the first place, was no disappointment! My friend, fortunatley, lives right close to Queen Street!! So when we left we took the Go Train down the street as far as we could, and cabbed to the event from there. Thankfully it was only about $8 for the cab.

On entry we hit the coat check first and then the bar for our first beer and my first "scan" of the event's "generated traffic". It was a good turn out with a few professional photographers, and several amateur ones - myself included here.

As I drank my first beer, my friend and I took it all in... It was a large main room with a few areas off to the sides and the bathroom at the far end near the stage. We sent and hung out for a while near the side of the stage. While we were there, we got asked by a couple of professional photographers for our picture. Unfrotunately, I only got one of these business cards and I have so far not been able to find it since.

The show was Great!! I tried to get as many good pics as I could, and even used my "feminine charms" to work my way through the crowd for some better view positioning. Unfortunately it was dim lighting for a lot of the show, the models moved around a lot, my damn camera was on delay, and of course others were in the way. So it was hard to get a lot of the pics I wanted, but I still came out with quite a few good ones - so I'm happy.

After the show we stayed to do some dancing... and I LOVE to dance! My friend ended up meeting someone (I think she already knew him, but not too sure there... ), who kept her company while I danced in the space pockets throughout the crowd (kinda my way of dancing with everyone... lol). As I like the stronger vibrations that only comes from being close to a speaker, I made my way to it. Enjoying the music and (thankfully) having the natural rythm that I do, I got asked by the dancer on stage to come up and join her. So I did! Once up there, she leaned over to say that it was nice to see someone that enjoys music and dancing as much as they do. Thankz for the compliment!! While I was dancing up there, one of the photographers (that had asked for our pic. earlier) decided to take a bunch more pics. of me (unfortunately, this is the business card I have yet to relocate here in my home.).
Before I knew it my friend had shown up again and told me that it was actually already 3AM! Then she said it was good I was up there, because she had been trying to find me. Boy did I laugh... And although she probably wanted to leave then, she was a good-hearted soul and friend and joined me up there to dance for a bit longer.

By the time we left it was just after 3:30. And by the time we had cabbed, took the Go Train back down the street to her place (thankfully were able to), and ready for bed - it was 4:20!! Couldn't believe the timing!! We were exhausted, but it was a GREAT night!!!

Thankz for coming out to these with me ladies!! I hope to do it again some time, and I send my love to you both!! Pics. here: http://feed832.photobucket.com/albums/zz250/Mortisha_Manson/Tribe%20Fashion%20and%20Fetish%20Show%202009/feed.rss
